David Bromden is a creative soul, wrapped in the disguise of a regular guy. Not so different from the next man in line at the market, David is someone you might overlook and soon forget. But if you get to know him, you'll find a depth of thought there that you will remember. When once being asked why he wrote Gathering in the Mist, David replied simply, "I want to make people think." And if you've read his writing, you know that is true.

A naturalist from birth, he grew up in a small coastal town in Connecticut and now many years later, he lives in a small country town, also in Connecticut. A concerned advocate of forest conservation and wildlife protection, David often flees the
real world to visit the natural places that remain on Earth. David has been a student of psychology, a bus driver, a teacher, a house painter, and a salesman, but it has always been the peaceful embrace of nature that most inspires his mind. His belief in the therapeutic power of the natural world is evident in his writing. Gathering in the Mist details a crusade of healing set deep inside the rainforests of Indonesia.

Like David,
Gathering in the Mist is much more than it seems to be at first glance.  As the chapters unfold, you'll find that the story makes you stop and think, and with that pondering, you'll come to know a little more about David Bromden.
